A recently made known source for rhenium, an extremely hard-wearing silvery metal used in satellites, airplanes, high-tech thermometers, and tactical missiles, has been raise by Russian scientists on Iturup Island. novel Scientist magazine reports that the island's volcano, Kudriavy, is spewing gases that are producing the metal naturally.
