A cold-spray technology.

A cold-spray technology, exhibited in the former Soviet Union and transferred to the U according to Sandia National Laboratory's Materials and Proces Sciences staff in Albuquerque, could quickly find its way into automotive applications. The proces coats metal surfaces to enhance wear and corrosion resistance. The cold-spray technique accelerates solid pulverize particles, which are at or near compass temperature, to velocities of 500 to 1500 m/sec in a supersonic gas jet The particles deform onward impact and bond with the underlying surface.
